The Rock on "Spy Hunter," "Conan," and "Terminator"
by RT Staff | January 28, 2005
Discuss Article
Dark Horizons has an update on several movies The Rock is currently developing. On the video game adaptation "Spy Hunter," he says, "They're continuing to write it" and the tone will be "futuristic-James Bond-eque ... with the levity from 'True Lies.'" John Woo is currently attached to direct. As for the future "Conan" and "Terminator" films, he says he has no plans to star in those.

please!
oh, please no!
I don't care much about spy hunter since I've never played the game, but please don't tell me someone is thinking of him for conan and terminator...
I can't stand this guy! it's impossible for me to take him seriously....lefting one eye-brow and smiling all the time....very unlikely for a terminator....and scorpion king was already a terrible rip-off of conan.

I agree about the scorpion king being a bad rip off of conan, and my god why would they even consider making a new terminator after the last one.As for spyhunter ,i have played the game but cant really remember much about it,but what i can remember was that it was just a driving game .How do they make a movie based on a game that has no story. The rock as far as i can tell is a decent actor ,he just needs to distance himself from vince mcman and find a decent script and director.Im not a wrestling fan and it seems like all these movies that have been released starring a wrestler have been horrible, but who knows maybe the rock will find a movie that will end this string of bad wrestlers turned actor curse.

The Rock is awesome!! He was great as a wrestler, and he's even better as an Actor. The Rundown was an awesome film. Walking Tall was okay.

Give The Rock a Break
I think he's beginning to make smarter acting choices. For one, it looks like he may be a scene-stealer in Be Cool as a supporting character. And some of the movies he's got in the pipeline seem pretty cooll, and high-concept. I think he'll do well.

Hey Rock!
My latest screenplay is a spoof of the superhero genre and got some great reviews on TriggerStreet.com. One reviewer said it was funnier than Austin Powers. I wrote it with you in mind to star! You are the next big action star. Send me an email if you want to read it. mrkellett@hotmail.com

The Rock is not that bad. He's definitely hands down the best actor to come out of the ranks of professional wrestling. He's got heaps of charisma and his acting is getting better with each film. There's not many actors out there that can fulfill the size qualifications that some of these movies like Conan demand and at the same time pull off the acting. This is why the Rock keeps getting tapped for these rolls. Schwartznegger wasn't exactly a good actor, but his sheer girth made him perfect for roles no one else could fill.

Yes, I came on here pitching a script. You'll be kissing my ass whenever I sell it! As for the Rock, yes I accept your challenge for a barbed wire cage match. If I win, you be in my movie, and agree to have sex with my wife. Hey, I'm a generous guy.

I don't think you know?
I don't think you know either movie ? how can you compare the two movie's?
scorpion king :In an ancient time, predating the pyramids, the evil king Memnon is using the psychic powers of his sorceress Cassandra to fortell his great victories. In a last ditch effort to stop Memnon from taking over the world, the leaders of the remaining free tribes hire the assassin Mathayus to kill the sorceress. But Mathayus ends up getting much more than he bargained for. Now with the help of the trickster Arpid, tribal leader Balthazar and an unexpected ally, it's up to Mathayus to fufill his destiny and become the great Scorpion King.
Conan:When his mother and father are killed in a raid by the evil sorcerer Thulsa Doom, Conan is sent to a slave camp. As the years pass, he develops into a powerfully-built man, still determined to get revenge for his parents' death and solve the riddle of steel. He learns that Thulsa Doom is the head of a mysterious snake cult and in his attempts to get closer to the evil sorceror Conan makes some powerful friends and many deadly enemies.

Where do you see that these two movie are anything alike?
