Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg took some time off from their busy "War of the Worlds" shoot in Los Angeles to speak with the press about their forthcoming movie. In the interview, Speilberg revealed that wanted to make this movie 12 years ago, but lost interest when "Independence Day," as well as other "scavenger films ... that sort of picked the bones of H.G. News on sequels, news on remakes, and in this case people complaining about filmakers ripping off of old ideas while talking up their own remake movie.

Hey, what's with all this complaining from Spielberg? What's this calling "Independence Day" and other Alien movies: "scavenger films ... that sort of picked the bones of H.G. Wells,"? That's rude. From when, did Spielberg have a MONOPOLY on Alien invasion movies? A little respect, dude.
