"Eucalyptus" Halts Production Indefinitely
The filming of "Eucalyptus," starring Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, has been indefinitely postponed, Variety reports. Fox Searchlight announced the delay days before shooting was to begin, citing "the screenplay is not where we need it to be." The studio said the stars had a limited window to participate in the low-budget Australian film, but that window has closed, with Crowe promoting "Cinderella Man" and Kidman promoting "The Interpreter." Thus it is unclear if the film will be made anytime soon, if at all. Variety says some of their sources indicate substantial creative differences between Crowe and producer Jocelyn Moorhouse doomed this picture.
