A "Super" Night for Spurlock
"Super Size Me," Morgan Spurlock's documentary about a month-long diet of nothing but McDonald's, is the first-ever winner of the Writer's Guild of America's award for documentary feature writing, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The award was presented at a ceremony at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. The category was created because the WGA said it wanted to recognize the impact of writers on nonfiction features.

He just basically made everyone's obesity case for them - yes, this food makes you fat. And yes, Americans already know it. Why are we giving this guy accolades? Because he's stupid enough to put himself on a diet we all know is going to do him harm? I wouldn't drink antifreeze at each and every meal to prove that it's not good for you. It's a little thing called common sense. Yes, it was well made, but the message has already been delivered a milllion times in a million different ways - eat better - eat whole grains - read labels - eat fruits and vegetables. This guys messages wasn't new or innovative. It was regurgitated, preachy crap. Personally, I think the guys idea was moronic at best, and life-threatening at worst. (Reply to this) |
