Aussies Are Upset Over "Eucalyptus"
The indefinite postponement of "Eucalyptus," a mid-budget film that was to star Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman, is being described as a blow to the Australian film industry, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Because of the postponement, 80 crew members are without work, and the town in New South Wales where shooting was to take place will lose business because of canceled accommodations. "After a horror 2004 for the Australian film industry, 'Eucalyptus' ... was seen as one of the big local hopes this year, especially with its Oscar-winning leads," Lawrie Zion wrote in the Weekend Australian. The official stance for the postponement was because Kidman and Crowe had scheduling conflicts.
