Columbia is in negotiations to finance "Tonight, He Comes" as a vehicle for Will Smith, Variety reports. The film, which would be directed by Jonathan Mostow, involves a superhero who crash-lands in a small town in New York. The film is being scheduled for a holiday release in 2006. Smith can currently be seen co-starring opposite Eva Mendes in the romantic comedy, "Hitch."

I'm loooking forward to this. Will Smith may not be great actor, but I do like seeing him act.
I assume it will be based on comics. I've never seen a superhero not from a comic..

Unbreakable, I believe, wasn't based on any existing comic.

No, indy didn't have any special powers. As for Will Smith as a superhero, ugh. Not looking forward to that at all.

Jonathan Mostow's a good director so this could be good. Plus, it's probably about time for a black superhero on the big screen.
