on Feb 23 2005 02:49 AM I don't know, I always percieved these comment boards/forums as a medium of inquiry and answer provision. And if you're post isn't of that nature, at least make your input moderately elaborate so that it provokes some kind of response in the people who read it, whether it be dissent or affirmation. I mean what are people getting out of you saying something like "not interested" or "sounds fantastic"? Give me something more, anything else, no matter how obscene or ridiculous, and I won't hold a grudge. No one really cares about the opinions of others, we only hear them out to feel validated or outraged (Reply to this) |

on Feb 23 2005 07:44 PM Oh great! Another film starring a rapper/pop star who is completely unqualified to be an actor. At least this film does involve music, but I doubt that will do much to drop the "suck value". (Reply to this) |

on Feb 24 2005 02:48 PM This should be a suck fest...another egotistic rapper bull shitting his way onto the music scene in the first place, the guy dont even smoke weed for the love of God! Image image and stereotypes, i hope he flops on this and no im not a hater, i bought his album i thought it was awesome till i found out he was a hardcore fake.... (Reply to this) |

on Feb 25 2005 12:22 AM Well by my comment i just simply ment that im not interested in this movie plain and simple ,sounds like a bad idea and ill probably never watch it.I wasnt trying to create a thought provoking argument or touch anyones lives,it just simply means not interested and ill leave it at that.I understand that these forums are for discussions about movies ,and as far as my disscusion or argument against this movie goes is that it will suck, thats just my opinion and i really cant think of anything else to say about it. on Feb 28 2005 12:43 AM Rap music can't hold up on it's own accord... it's no longer about the music but instead all about the bling-bling, self advertising (drink, food, clothing), constantly having to feature in gossip magazines, dissin' your fellow rappers, going to nightclubs and causing trouble... and of course now, having to star in your own action/comedy movie. It's what keeps the stars in the spotlight because without all that, you're basically left with really repetitive lyrics made up in 5 secs, played over a bass track on loop. So yeah... most rap stars these days epitomize the idea of "selling-out", but hey, that's what it's all about and a movie is just another way to cash in. All the great bands/singers simply stick to what they're good at and it's about the music not boosting their egos! .....btw i'm not some punk who accuses everyone of "selling out", i just don't like rap, and things like this movie which stems from that. on Feb 28 2005 10:02 AM I am sick to fucking death of rappers and the bullshit image they are giving out, they're in everything! This movie is an action-comedy about leaving crime to go into the music industry... it will mostly be rappers wielding guns and giving off yet another bad image to kids. All this bling bling is getting ridiculous now. What happened to being passionate and serious about music? It's all image now and kids are being brainwashed into this crap. I'm not having a go at rap in general, I like eminems encore album. Its just all the commercial rubbish cashing in thats floating about. Hopefully some smart kids will eventually realize this and actually listen to some decent music, rather than care what cap they wear or what trousers they wear, because there so called idols wear it! I hope this film flops! however it will most likely get a good box office taking! :( (Reply to this) |

on Feb 28 2005 10:39 PM What really kills me is when these rappers act like there music isnt influencing these kids, because everyone knows at some degree it is,there wasnt over a hundred pants sagging white kids at my high school for nothing. The rap artists will defend this shit til the end of time because its made them rich ,and im not just attacking rap artists but a lot of music thats released these days in general.Take that manson guy for example, have you seen all the clown dressing goth people that walk the streets and malls these days. All that is is a cry for attention, bottom line .but im my opinion looking like an evil ronald mcdonald isnt cool, its just rediculous.I also think parents need to set examples for there children, but as a parent i also know u cant shield them from everything and watch there every move.
