Ice Cube to Build "Dream House"
by RT Staff | February 22, 2005
Discuss Article
Ice Cube is in talks to take on a role originally played by Cary Grant in Revolution Studios' remake of "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House," Variety reports. Steve Carr, the director of "Next Friday," which also starred Ice Cube, will helm the project. The original film starred Grant and Myrna Loy as a couple who buy a fixer-upper in the suburbs, which turns out to be a difficult project. Cube stars in "Are We There Yet?" and the forthcoming "XXX: State of the Union."

Studio Exec 1: "Let's remake a Cary Grant movie."
Studio Exec 2: "Sounds good to me."
Studio Exec 3: "What leading man could we get to fill the mighty shoes of Cary Grant."
Studio Exec 1: "I'm glad you asked because I have the perfect and most obvious Cary Grant substitute."
Studio Exec 2: "Don't keep us in stitches. Who? Denzel or Jude Law?"
Studio Exec 3: "No silly. Ice Cube of course."

I don't know. Ice Cube doing a Cary Grant role just seems stupid. Who knows it might work.
