"Die Hard 4.0" Has Something to Do With Computers
by Binh Ngo | February 23, 2005
Discuss Article
The fourth installment of the "Die Hard" series will have "something to do with computers," Bruce Willis revealed to Empire Magazine. That may explain the title of the fourth film. Other than that, he's keeping the plot details close to his vest. As to whether or not his character will be killed in the new movie, he said, "I like keeping those things a secret." He then went on to say that he doesn't know "what the outcome of 'Die Hard 4.0' will be" but "feels like it should be the last one." "Right now, if I retired the series, I would retire undefeated." The script, he said, will be done by summer for a fall shoot. His character John McClane will be retired from the police force in the new film. Willis will have a movie coming out March 11th called "Hostage."

Wonder how good it'll be...
Having created what could be considered the perfect action movie (Die Hard 1), John McTiernan did something with Die Hard 3 that could simply be considered inexcusable. he resurrected a character who could very well have been left to the annals of motion picture history, and put him in a movie that, to be quite truthful wasn't that good.

So I guess we'll just have to see what they come up with for this one- who's directing, co-starring, etc. If John McClane dies, maybe he can finally rest in peace.

die hard series
1: one of the best action films ever made; great script, great direction, great "acting;" maybe cracks my Top 100

2: neat locations; neat, nasty surprises; decent sequel

3: i've seen thousands of films in the theater, Die Hard 3 is one of the 10 or so I walked out of because it sucked.

4.0: i'm there but try to make it good, thank you.

Die Hard 3 wasn't that bad! The ending was a bit weak but at least the story was something different and a lot of people seem to like it. It was No. 2 that was the weak one - it followed the exact same plot as the 1st, only did it much more poorly.

This is great!
Man, the 80'/90's cinema-action icons are BACK! And this is GREAT! If there's one thing you can say about 80's action-stars, is that they're coming back with a BANG into the new millenium! I'm also looking forward for the new Rocky (cynics will always be sad...), the new Indiana Jones, and most: Mel returning to Mad Max shoes...! One syllable armed, so-called heroes such as Vin deasel's XXX, makes me yearn for the return of the more humane, wise-cracking, joyous McClane...!

I like the die hard series as much as the next guy ,but how many times can one man go threw this stuff.Like in the lethal weapons movies ,those guys have to be the best cops that ever lived, that is if they were real.I do like all these 80s action films ,and will probably watch any sequal that they make, but at some point everything must end before it gets tiresome and repetitive.

Wow. I'm obviously out of touch on this one. I thought Die Hard With A Vengeance was great! Half-assed ending, but a fun ride up until that. I thought it was way better than the second movie. I'm surprised that anyone didn't even know the 3rd existed.

All that said, I still think it's a bad idea to make a 4th one. Granted, it *could* be a breath of fresh air into a stale landscape of action movies, but I'm not expecting this to be all that great. Hopefully I'll be surprised and proven wrong.

If you all consider the 3rd one to have a bad ending, which i will not defend, see the alternate ending. It makes the ending used in the final version better than usual suspects. I still, however, consider the 2nd to be the worst, at least the 3rd had Sam Jackson to add some entertainment that was non-existent in die hard 2.
