Variety brings us some colorful casting news from the upcoming Rob Schneider / David Spade comedy "Benchwarmers." Jared Hess (yes, "Napoleon Dynamite" himself) has signed on, joining a supporting cast that already includes Jon Lovitz and Craig Kilborn. The sports comedy details "three guys who try to make up for their lack of athleticism in school by forming a three-man baseball team to challenge youth teams." Dennis Dugan ("Happy Gilmore") is directing from a screenplay by Allen Covert ("Eight Crazy Nights") and Nick Swardson ("Malibu's Most Wanted").

Jared Hess wrote and directed Napolean Dynamite. Jon Heder played the role of Napolean himself. So RT was a little off.
