How Bewitching is this New Trailer?
by Scott Weinberg | March 24, 2005
Discuss Article
Moviefone brings us a first look at the full trailer for the summertime comedy "Bewitched," which stars Nicole Kidman, Will Ferrell, Michael Caine, Shirley MacLaine, and Jason Schwartzman. Based on the old-school sitcom of the same name, "Bewitched" hits the screen courtesy of director Nora Ephron ("When Harry Met Sally") and screenwriters Delia Ephron ("You've Got Mail") and Adam McKay ("Anchorman"). If this trailer does its job, you just might be in line when "Bewitched" hits theaters on June 24th.

looks really funny. I didn't know it was going to be about remaking the TV show though.

I can't seem to stop watching it, thumbs up. If the movie is as funny or have even funnier scenes than what's been shown then this movie will be gold.

Looks fairly terrible to me.

I mean, I love Will Ferrel. But he was great on SNL because he had such a wide variety of interesting characters. I'm getting tired of seeing him playing the same "loud-mouthed silly idiot" routine in his movies. One Adam Sandler is plenty.

That's an interesting take on the series. I like it. Looks like a great role for Nicole Kidman.

Oh my God, what a waste of time. I would say it was also a waste of talent if there was any involved. Will they ever be on to the Ephron's? They're responsible for some of the worst movies ever made. And there is a good reason why Kidman has never been in a hit movie - audiences HATE HER! Michael Caine is always great but has nothing to do here and when will Shirley MacLaine go away and leave us all alone? As for Will Ferrell, more solid proof that SNL is just one long, silly joke told over and over again. It's time to just stop going to movies altogether if this is what studios think people are looking for.

Just because WIll Ferrell is in it wont get me seeing it..

Nicole Kidman's never been in a hit? I'm sorry, what were Dead Calm, The Others, and Moulan Rouge? I don't see that audiences have a particular problem with her, but it certainly sounds like you do.

Well, Dead Calm is a horrible example as it made $7,825,009... total. That's not a hit. But I'll give you the other two. Plus Cold Mountain, and Days of Thunder. However, she's not really box-office gold either.

Honestly I don't think it mattered who they cast for her part. The movie looks bad with or without her.

Well.... I guess it's a different take on the old tv show to movie type deal.

But what the hell is the point of all these old tv show movies?? Sure, The Fugitive worked and was quite good. But name another that was anything other than craptacular!

These non-stop sequels, remakes, and old tv show movies have to stop. Soon my brain will escape and I'll start to enjoy them, then it's all over people!

How Bewitching is this New Trailer? In my opinion not very. Im sure it will be an okay movie, but noting to special. I don't really like the idea of them doing a remake of Bewitched doing a remake of Bewitched. It sounds kind of silly to me. Still I'll go out and rent it.
