Screenwriter Sheds Some Light on His "Dallas" Adaptation
by Scott Weinberg | March 28, 2005

Reuters had a sit-down with screenwriter Robert Harling ("The First Wives Club," "Steel Magnolias"Wink and asked what we can expect from his re-imaging of the classic TV soap opera "Dallas." Although casting news is being kept under close wraps, Harling shared a few comments regarding his screenplay: "It's reinventing the Ewing family as if they existed now in 2006 when the movie comes out ... These characters are outrageous -- one of things I told the studio is I'd like to do 'Dallas' on acid." (Click here for the two-page article.) Planned for a 2006 release, Fox's big-screen "Dallas" adventure will be directed by Robert Luketic ("Legally Blonde," "Monster-in-Law"Wink.
