Jet Li Responds to "Unleashed" Censorship Issues
On his official webiste, Jet Li answers several questions posed to him about the issues arising in China from the U.S. marketing posters for his latest film, Unleashed.
Critics of the film's marketing have said that the idea for the film and the poster, which depicts Li lying on the ground defending himself against a foot stepping on his head, as being racist against Chinese.
In the series of questions and answers Li states that the misunderstanding might be "... because the people who say this have not yet seen this movie so they don't really know the idea behind the film. But believe me this film does not insult me".
Li goes on to answer additional questions about his ONE Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization he is setting up to aid in the victims of natural disasters as well as discuss his upcoming project with helmer Ronny Yu and celebrated choreographer Yuen Woo Ping.
