Aoiboy writes: on May 10 2005 01:26 AM I saw Kingdom of Heaven... not a bad picture overall, but let's face it: Orlando Bloom's not a good actor. I noticed ever since Lord of the Rings. In Kingdom I had to stand two hours of him putting the same face whether he was meeting his long lost dad, whether his dad was dying, whether he was victorious in a battle, whether he was tempted by a seductress... The rest of the cast was great and the technical aspects saved the movie for me, but Scott should have gone for some other young actor that can actually carry two hours of ACTING. Jake Gyllenhaal for example. (Reply to this) |

The character of BALIAN required a lot of intensity and different emotions as per the various sequences which probably a more seasoned actor could only portray ........albert (Reply to this) |

jeanfc writes: on May 10 2005 01:27 PM I think that the box office results have more to do with the simple lack of quality and imagination coming out of Hollywood. How many of this year's BIG films are remakes, sequels, prequels. I am also getting quite tired of to-cute to-cool to-hip animated films being produced. Toy Story was excellent, Shrek really good, the Incredibles was very good, but after a while they all seems to mesh together... Money should be invested in good scripts, scenarios and stories. It would be cool to see PG-13 or R rated animated films for adults. Maybe it's why many Americans are moving away from traditional American "cutely" animations and into Japanese animation. As for "Kingdom Under Heaven"...it was pretty boring. Had alot of boring characters *yawn*. The only good characters that were fun to watch were the Muslims. (Reply to this) |

speelbergo writes: on May 12 2005 09:15 AM WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY..... Is hollywood so surprised that action movies are doing so poorly right now????? DUH! Everyone's holding on to their money for Episode III. Same thing happened with all the LOTR FLicks. I'm sick of people complaining about the Lagging B.O. Just wait, stupids.... (Reply to this) |

jeanfc writes: on May 12 2005 06:28 PM In reply to this comment (#821989) Someone needs to get a grip. The B.O. IS lagging and everything is a damn sequel or remake. Star Wars better make 400 million, or its going to be a disaster. (Reply to this) |

Grotesque writes: on May 13 2005 01:45 PM In reply to this comment (#821990) It will make $400 million because for the last few weeks...there hasn't been a movie worth the money to see. Movies before Star Wars that has been released haven't done well, because people feel a lot like they are just fill-me-ins movies. Wait...when Star Wars 3 comes out and people get the chance to see it...the box office will be full of cash again. (Reply to this) |

synergyred writes: on May 15 2005 11:03 AM In my opinion this movie wasn't bad because of Orlando's acting (which was NOT up to par, I'll agree) as much as it was due to the terrible script! I mean it wasn't a bad movie, it was a dissapointing one. It could have been so great if it was just a bit more focused. There were too many characters and the director tried to encorporate too many themes into the story. It was so scattered that I felt really cheated. The one thing the movie did have was a great war scene at the end. I loved some of the tatics Bailin's forces used in the battle. (Reply to this) |
