Trailer Bulletin: The Island
Yahoo! Movies brings us an all-new trailer for Michael Bay's sci-fi thriller "The Island." A tale of utopian societies, rampant cloning, and desperate escapes, "The Island" hopes to be one of the "out of left field" hits this summer. Ewan McGregor ("Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith") stars alongside Scarlett Johansson ("Lost in Translation'), and they're supported by folks like Sean Bean ("National Treasure"), Michael Clarke Duncan ("Daredevil"), Djimon Hounsou ("Amistad"), and Steve Buscemi ("Reservoir Dogs").
Controversial big-budget director Michael Bay ("The Rock," "Armageddon") is usually good for some summertime mayhem, and here he's woking from a screenplay by Caspian Treadwell-Owen ("Beyond Borders") and the writing team of Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci ("The Legend of Zorro"). "The Island" hits theaters on July 22nd.

Scott Weinberg writes: on May 22 2005 12:57 AM Bay didn't direct those horror films. But his last two movies, Bad Boys 2 & Pearl Harbor, were just wretched. On the other hand, I'm a BIG fan of The Rock & (shame) Armageddon. But I'm really quite pumped to see The Island. The trailer looks slick and (maybe a little) "sci-fi smart" -- plus it's got Ewan. And Ewan McGregor is awesome. I love the guy. And Scarlett?? Yum! (Reply to this) |
