Horror Scribe Susco Prepares to Enter the "Crawlspace"
More horror news from Variety: "The Grudge" screenwriter Stephen Susco (presently at work on "The Grudge 2" and a remake of "Prom Night") will adapt Herbert Lieberman's 1971 novel "Crawlspace" into screenplay form for Paramount Pictures.
No relation to the 1986 Klaus Kinski thriller of the same name, the novel is about "a couple who have retired to the country and decide to ask a shy young man who's repairing their heater to stay for dinner. Mysterious occurrences mount over the next few weeks, culminating with the discovery that the man has taken up residence in the basement crawlspace." Mr. Lieberman's novel was adapted into a 1972 TV movie that starred Arthur Kennedy and Teresa Wright.
