AOL Moviefone delivers the very first look at the all-new trailer for "Rent." Based on the overwhelmingly popular Broadway musical of the same name, "Rent" stars Rosario Dawson ("Alexander"), Taye Diggs ("Basic"), Anthony Rapp ("Dazed and Confused"), Sarah Silverman ("Evolution") and a host of others.

Chris Columbus ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone") is in the director's chair for the adaptation, working from an adapted screenplay by Steve Chbosky. "Rent" dances into theaters on November 11th.

Wow! The whiny, self righteous musical that spurned a generation of blond highlights and watered down rockers comes to the big screen. The trailer is laughable with a line of actors singing "Seasons of Love" like the hipster equivalent of an amusement park quartet. Adam Pascal has one of the most annoying voices EVER! It was only appropriate in SCHOOL OF ROCK, as the lead singer of a LAME rock band. Oh, and it's directed by Chris "Stepmom" Columbus so you know it will be as edgy as an eyebrow ring on a teddy bear.

Ha! Well said. You might just be wrong about the movie ... but I think you're probably right. ;)

I think Team America said it best when they sang the song "EVERYONE HAS AIDS!"

I like the trailer. The movie looks good to me. Then again I like musicals.

Apparently, you guys know nothing about theatre. I guess it takes a cultured individual to understand what good theatre is. The musical is one of the best musicals ever to hit the stage. Edgy, unique, honest, and moving, Rent is a breakthrough in musical theatre.

The movie looks very good as well, expecially for a musical turned movie. The fact that the director even took on such a challenge knows that he has the integrity to keep the rawness of the film. The reason why the actors were standing in a line singing "Seasons of Love" is because they wanted to keep the true essence of the musical, and this specific scene was in it.

See some theatre, get cultured, see the movie, and then respond.
