In Other News...Michael Jackson, Alicia Silverstone, and Heavy D (no Boyz)

If you don't already know by now, the once-King of Pop, AKA The Gloved One, AKA Wacko Jacko, AKA MJ, or as his momma named him, Michael Joseph Jackson, was found not guilty on all counts Monday afternoon by a jury of his peers. Well, a jury of his kind-of peers. The former child star-cum-pop sensation was up on an assortment of ten charges ranging from lewd conduct with a child under 14, attempted lewd conduct, administering alcohol to a child with the intent to molest, extortion, abduction, and false imprisonment. The months-long trial was a veritable media circus, full of celebrity testimonies, Jackson appearing in pajamas, multiple hospitalizations, salacious stories, a family of grifters, tales of "Jesus Juice," and dramatic reenactments broadcast daily on television. With the former superstar estimated to be spending $30 million per year more than he makes, it seems a few income-generating biopics might do the trick to get those roller coasters moving again at Neverland Ranch.

Meanwhile, Clueless star and favorite music video babe of the 1990s Alicia Silverstone tied the knot with her rocker boyfriend last weekend in Lake Tahoe, People reports. The actress, vegetarian, and animal rights activist wed longtime beau Chris Jarecki, lead singer of rock group S.T.U.N., who she had been dating since her Batgirl days. Silverstone was last seen in this year's Beauty Shop as Queen Latifah's favorite shampoo girl.

And finally, the popular sub-category of rapper-turned-actor has crowned a new star -- Heavy D has made it to the stage. The thespian once known as Dwight Meyers is starring in the post-war play "Medal of Honor Rag" (sans backing group, the Boyz) and shares co-producing credits with none other than the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith. The artist, affectionately known in his musical prime as the Overweight Lover, already has nine film roles under his belt, including Life and The Cider House Rules; his stage debut at Hollywood's Egyptian Theater propels him into the ranks of other such successful rap-tors as Ice-T, Ice-Cube, LL Cool J, Mos Def, DMX, and Marky Mark.

Its a shame that he was found not guilty, despite the fact that the acusers mom is a scam artist,i still wouldnt have been able to let a 40 some year old man who has had hundreds of little boys in his bed go free.

The guy was innocent. He's so far detached from reality that his idea of sleeping in bed together isn't quite our own.

Whatever that means. The truth is that no one will really know, and I suppose it's better that way. I'm just glad we can all move on. Talk about milking the cow dry!

What does Michael Jackson have to do with movies ?! (Don't answer Moonwalker or whatever the name of that extended videoclip he made for cinemas was). I was hoping rottentomatoes to be one of the sites where I could have some fresh air escaping from the media craziness that surrounded this case. It's almost as sickening as the charges he was accused of.

In my mind, it's complicated feeling!
When I was small, Michael Jackson is riding high and his songs were cool. Gradually, the more I grew, the more bad news spreaded worldwide and the truth? I'm not the one who involved!
This afternoon I overheard a broadcast program, a hostess commented that he had no childhood so he loved to play with boys, it might be the cause he over the line which to be harrass?
I don't know, maybe too young to be rich is the main reason!

MJ may very well be innocent despite what I perceive to be the general public sentiment. Regardless, he should have bloody well stopped sleeping with kids after those initial allegations all those years ago. It's just common sense, though MJ and common sense don't seem to coincide very often.

Another thing I'd like to mention...I can understand, sort of, how he might of felt cheated out of a childhood and all, and so attempted to re-capture that which he felt had been lost. But, how many years now has it been since he built Neverland? If one doesn't really start forming long term memories to any significant degree till around the age of 3, and 18 is the age one is generally considered an adult... Well, let me just say I think it's time he move on.

He will be in this situation again, wait and see. This stuff has went on for years, and what really gets me is the parents, the parents who let him sleep with there children. It seems like everytime you turn the tv on anymore someone has kidnapped ,rapped and killed someones kid.As a father these cases really bother me ,i just dont have any simpathy for someone like mj.

this will never happen again..
no way is momma jackson or janet gonna let this happen again..you can see it in their eyes...the pain this has caused.....

already his lawyers hae announced he will never sleep again with kids...i do think mj saw himself as a kid....he might possibly even have molested at one point....but i dont think he did in this case...the time-line was too jacked up...he would have had to have done it within a three day period...when he was dealing with the media backlash from the bashire documentary? just doesnt make since...

hopefully this incident has forced the dude to mature...and get some counseling ya big freak!!

hate to tell you guys this, but pedophiles dont stop

as for the timeline, it is well known that sexual deviants act out when they are at high levels of stress, so the fact that the molestation occured after the documentary is not suprising

if jackson was joe shmoe down the block, he wouldve been rotting in some jail years before this incident

the fact that the jury disregarded the video of the initial police interview, the "art" books of the young male nudes, or the fact that jackson gave access to children to his porno stash, is disturbing

the fact that some of the jurors who have now spoken, believe he is a pedophile, is also dsturbing

whether this boy lied in a previous civil matter should have been disregarded (he lied about abuse at the hands of his father and many abuse victims lie about abuse they have experienced)

jackson will abuse children again, except the next time, he wont get caught

hopefully he will die of an od and put us all out of his misery

Okay, I'm confused here... what on earth is 'attempted lewd conduct'? Does this imply that someone can try to act lewdly and fail? I'd hate to see what that might look like.
