"Howard Stern's Porky's" Gets Closer to Becoming a Reality
by Scott Weinberg | June 15, 2005
Discuss Article
Popular shock-jock Howard Stern ("Private Parts") mentioned several years ago that he was planning to produce a remake of Bob Clark's original "Porky's," and it now looks like the project just might be moving forward: Mr. Stern has partnered with producer Paul Bronfman to bring "Howard Stern's Porky's" to the big screen.

Mr. Bronfman indicated that the new screenplay is "on its fifth or sixth draft" -- which is probably four more drafts than a remake of "Porky's" really needs. But with Howard Stern involved, at least we won't have to worry about the possibility of the new "Porky's" being rated PG-13.

perfect evidence
that just shows you what a bright, clever fellow Stern is for taking upon himself to update a shitty '80's sex comedy.

Why remake classics?

Bad Remakes of Bad Movies
Whose brilliant (I wish a typed text had a way to convey sarcasm) idea was this?
Thank goodness Bob Clarke redeemed himself with "A Christmas Story." That anyone would even entertain the idea that remaking "Porky's" is a worthwhile project, is beyond my imagination. Are there no producers willing to make original films anymore? Are there no screenwriters writing original material anymore? (well, that at least I know is not true). No wonder the rest of the world hates America -- just look at the reptetive, unoriginal crap that Hollywood foists on them (and us). Anyone interested in starting a grassroots campaign against remakes?

In a word, matey... probably not. Okay, so that's two words.
I'll join your grassroots campaign. My skills include debating skills, writing ability, and sarcasm. A relative of mine wrote the script for a TV series called Grassroots... 'nuff said.

Howard Stern is an idiot, and a major league pervert.
