Lions Gate Buys the Newest "Highlander" (with two more on the way!)

Variety reports that Lions Gate Films has purchased North American distribution rights to "Highlander: The Journey Continues" -- and also that production house Davis Panzer has set its sights on two additional "Highlander" sequels.

"The Journey Continues" will star TV Highlander Adrian Paul and will be directed by Brett Leonard ("The Lawnmower Man," "Man-Thing").

No word yet on how close to completion this fourth "Highlander" sequel is, but the IMDb credits the flick withmore than six screenwriters ... so at least we know some people are hard at work on the project.

I dunno, I thought the only two good highlander movies were the first and fourth one, but I was kinda hoping they'd be done with it so they couldn't screw with it any further...

I thought the whole idea was that the immortals fight it out and the dude in the skirt won. End of story. How can it keep coming back?

They ruined the whole idea in the first sequel by saying they're all aliens or whatever, it's time to give up. The next sequel will be called "Highlander: Beating a Dead Horse"

yeah, they're making so many Highlander films that they're running out of synonyms for the word "last" to put in the film's title.

at this rate, the Highlander series will become the Cher Farewell Tours of films. they keep saying it will be the last, but it never is.

the first one was a very good movie. The second two somewhat ruined the story of the first one (as sequels often do), but still stuck with it a little bit. Yes, the idea of them being from another dimension in the second one was a little off, but at least it still stuck with the orignal story of him winning the prize and growing old. And it was somewhat creative how once other immortals entered his dimension, he became immortal again, and had to win the prize all over again. The third was like a flachback to present day, giving him one more immortal to beat after he though he had already won the prize. So it could be argued that this segued to him growing older in the second film. All in all, they were unecessary sequels, but were still enjoyable. End game on the other hand (along with the television show), completely ruin the storyline of the first 3. How could he have won the prize in the original, if lame ass duncan mcleod was still running around? How could he have grown old in the second, if he sacrificed himself to duncan in the present day of end game? Why would they want us to forget the best movie in the series, the original. I guess to make more money.

christopher lambert is good in the first one n the movie is pretty good... sequels sucked and so did the tv show, adrian paul is a terrible actor and seeing him wave that sword around again is the last thing i want to see
