Rock 'n' Reynolds to Deliver Buddy-Action "Blowback" for Disney
by Scott Weinberg | August 03, 2005
Discuss Article
Screenwriter Sheldon Turner has sold his action-comedy pitch "Blowback" to Disney, and the plan is to put The Rock and Ryan Reynolds together to see how things blow up.

Tapestry Films, fresh off the gotta-love-it success of their "Wedding Crashers," has been working with Mr. Turner on molding this vehicle, and now the things looks ready to hit the streets.

No word yet on who'll be directing the duo -- or even what the movie's actually about -- but both leading men have their fair share of action-centric experience. The Rock got solid in "Walking Tall" and "The Rundown," while Mr. Reynolds recently kicked some vampire tail in "Blade: Trinity."

Mr. Turner seems to be a pretty busy guy himself these days; his "The Longest Yard" was an early-summer hit, and he's also working on that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" prequel that you're all dreading and looking forward to at the same time.
