Biggestgeekever writes: on Aug 26 2005 12:36 AM Wow, looks like an even more uneeded sequal then Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is being made. (Reply to this) |

Sinizine writes: on Aug 26 2005 01:27 AM Actually, I kinda want to see this. Carrell is hilarious, and I find Oederkerk's humor funny as well. (Reply to this) |

vimrcds writes: on Aug 26 2005 05:21 AM Que?! I've got to agree with the Biggestgeekever. Why on EARTH would you make a sequel to Bruce Almighty? And without Jim Carrey? No way. (Reply to this) |

Rmoss20 writes: on Aug 26 2005 06:43 AM I prob would of questioned this sequel since Jim Carrey isint coming back, but Steve Carell is hilarious and should fill in just fine. (Reply to this) |

Saint_Angst writes: on Aug 26 2005 09:20 AM In reply to this comment (#825559) And it might just work... it sounds so stupid and unneeded, that it just might be pretty funny (Reply to this) |

Elessar Oronro writes: on Aug 26 2005 11:12 AM only if they poke fun at the fact that this movie is stupid and unneeded...that would be worth watching. (Reply to this) |

ICP writes: on Aug 26 2005 12:54 PM What? A Jim Carrey movie sequel without Jim Carrey? Sounds like crap. (Reply to this) |

ARileyL writes: on Aug 26 2005 02:14 PM I just can't imagine how the plot will work. Does God just love this city and decides that Evan needs to learn a lesson of his own? (Reply to this) |

Aoiboy writes: on Aug 26 2005 02:16 PM Sounds forced... why ? The guy is talented enough and has proved he can carry a movie on his own... why reprising a secondary role (even if he was great in it) for making an unnecesary sequel to a movie that starred an actor that won't be back ?! Just give Carell a brand new project (and hopefully, let him have a hand in the script, like he did for "Virgin"). Oh, yes, and the story of this one sound really lame ! (Reply to this) |
|
Christ_Puncher writes: on Aug 26 2005 08:47 PM Well I agree 100% with Aoiboy. Steve Carell is incredibly funny, but Bruce Almighty wasn't that good of a movie. It would just be a waste of his talent to make a pointless sequel to an average movie... I can't really picture it being any good. (Reply to this) |

blur_republic writes: on Aug 27 2005 12:34 AM I agree with the people who claim this to be an unnecessary spinoff to what was a mediocre movie at best. And this is not a sequel as what some guys here claim.. it's more of a spinoff (think Elektra, a spinoff of Daredevil). Don't you just hate it whenever someone becomes hot property, studio execs just milk them for all they're worth until you can't stand them anymore!? Look at Will Ferrell.. while I appreciate his brand of humor, he has suddenly become so ubiquitous that I'd be surprised if I DON'T see him make in a comedy. Carrell should take his time in choosing film titles, and not use his newfangled popularity to simply make one film after another.. (Reply to this) |

lovelykeira writes: on Aug 27 2005 11:07 AM I liked Bruce Almighty, Shadyac's a good director, Freeman's awsome and Carell's a funny guy. But Carell's still no Jim Carrey and this sounds like it has a stupid plot, so hopefully this unneeded spinoff will fall apart and these talented people will go onto better things. (Reply to this) |

RockeyNumber1 writes: on Aug 27 2005 02:18 PM I think it could go either way. They could make it hilarious or it be a disaster. i say let them make the movie and judge it then. (Reply to this) |

fight__club writes: on Aug 27 2005 05:50 PM This movie will probably be okay but I prefer fresh ideas rather than uneeded sequels. (Reply to this) |
|
Zach Houchins writes: on Aug 27 2005 06:10 PM Carell could do great in a movie of his own, not some stupid spinoff with a retarded plot. The original was kind of funny, but really not all that great. (Reply to this) |

randal1013 writes: on Aug 28 2005 08:27 AM i love carrell, but this sequel sounds really awkward. carrel's character in bruce almighty played a small part. i have no idea how they're going to take a small, flat character from a movie and turn him into the main character for the sequel to a movie that was not made for a follow up. they should make a movie with a new idea for carrell. next thing you know, they'll be making anchorman 2 with carrell as the main character and not even include will ferrall. (Reply to this) |

adamsandler_lvr2011 writes: on Aug 28 2005 11:25 AM In reply to this comment (#825562) WTF!!! I agree with admira_thrawn.A Jim Carrey sequal with no Jim Carrey just plain sucks! That's right, people! Yeah, Carell may be funny, but he can't top Jim Carrey. Everybody knows that. (Reply to this) |

Infernal writes: on Aug 28 2005 11:52 PM Well, this movie COULD work. Just one problem. Take a good look at Carell's character, first movie. A little insecure, not the normal Carelll character. They would have to change the character a bit for this to have a chance to be comical. If they DO tweak this little problem, I see another hilarious Carell film. (Reply to this) |

vader_of_vjun writes: on Aug 29 2005 01:03 AM In reply to this comment (#825570) Sequels are needed for : Epics, Kid films with good characters, and open-ended stuff. Otherwise, all unnessasary. (Reply to this) |

Prosper761 writes: on Aug 29 2005 08:33 PM The original had it's moments, though most of them involved Carell, and I do think Carell is about a million times funnier than Carrey on his best day. Carrey has always seemed to come across as a bit smarmy, screaming "Hey, Mom! Look at me! Mom! Mom! Are you looking? Mom! Look, Mom, look!" in almost every role he's played. Carell comes across as someone you know, rather than someone you'd cross the street to avoid. (Reply to this) |
