"Hard Candy" Director to Tackle "30 Days of Night"
According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Slade, director of the controversial Sundance selection "Hard Candy," has been tapped to helm "30 Days of Night" for Columbia Pictures.
Sam Raimi's Ghost House Productions will be producing the adaptation of the Steve Niles comic series, which focuses on Alaskan vampires who plan to have a thirty-day feast.
The flick "centers on a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow, where the sun sets and doesn't rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their knees. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff and Deputy, a husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love."
Mr. Slade's debut, "Hard Candy," is scheduled for release on December 23rd.
