Gruffudd to Play "Amazing" Abolitionist
by Scott Weinberg | September 14, 2005
Discuss Article
Mr. Fantastic himself, Ioan Gruffudd, has signed to star in Michael Apted's historical drama "Amazing Grace" for Walden Media, says The Hollywood Reporter.

"Albert Finney also has joined the cast. Based on the life of British anti-slavery pioneer William Wilberforce (Gruffudd), "Amazing Grace" follows his 18th century political career, which placed him at odds with some of the most powerful men of the time, including the king."

Mr. Apted will be directing from a screenplay by "Dirty Pretty Things" scribe Steven Knight.

More Hornblower!
I like this actor... well I like A&E's Heratio Hornblower. Does anyone know if he is going to do any more of those?
