Trailer Bulletin: The Promise
by Scott Weinberg | October 11, 2005
Discuss Article
Chinese director Chen Kaige's high-profile martial arts film, "The Promise," has received its final "license" to compete for Best Foreign Film in next year's Academy Awards. And you can see the (rather awesome) trailer for the film right here.

This mega budget pan-Asian production will be released across the world in December.

The film combines a fantasy setting with a love story and epic battle sequences. The cast includes Japan's Hiroyuki Sanada, Korea's Jang Dong-Kun and Hong Kong stars Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse.

No definite word on when the film will be released in North America, but we'll let you know when we hear something!

Holy moly!
This is one nice looking trailer. This has more of fantasy look than Hero. The color scheme is also pretty unique. Lots of red and white. Really looking forward to this.
