Two Funny Hotties to Become "Groupies"
by Scott Weinberg | November 11, 2005

The only thing better than a beautiful woman is a funny beautiful woman, and I know more than a few red-blooded males who'll queue up once "Groupies" hits the screens. Why? Because it'll star Amy Poehler and Isla Fisher ... and, cmon, it's a comedy called "Groupies."

Variety says: "Paramount continues to show a recent fondness for laffers, acquired the female buddy comedy pitch "Groupies," with Amy Poehler and Isla Fisher aboard to star.

The duo came up with the idea for the pic and will take exec producer credits. John Goldwyn is producing with "Saturday Night Live" honcho Lorne Michaels through his Broadway Video along with the company's Jill Messick.

Storyline finds Poehler and Fisher in the world of rock groupies. Erica Rivinoja will pen the script."

Amy Poehler is, of course, one of the few sparkling highlights of the present-day "Saturday Night Live," while Isla Fisher is the goofball stunner who made with the chuckles in "Wedding Crashers."
