Trailer Bulletin: Cars
Those who drove away a little underwhelmed by the inital teaser for Pixar's upcoming "Cars" should take a moment to click here and check out the newest trailer, which is a marked improvement over the previous clips and capably exudes that old-school Pixar magic. Plus it's got cars in it.
"Lightning McQueen, a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. McQueen gets to know the town’s offbeat characters- who help him realize that there are more important things than trophies, fame and sponsorship."
"Cars," which stars Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, John Ratzenberger, Cheech Marin, Bonnie Hunt, Richard Petty, and Larry the Cable Guy, opens on June 9th. The writer/director is John Lasseter, the man behind both "Toy Story"s and the often underrated "A Bug's Life."

on Nov 28 2005 09:20 AM awww ... SWEET! After the first (bumble bee) teaser trailer, I was worried that Pixar was just slapping together one more quick CGI film to satisfy their contract with Disney. The story line didn't seem like it was as clever as Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, or The Incredibles. But after watching this new trailer, I must say I'm much more excited about this movie. I can't wait to watch it with my son. And, the best thing about this movie, it has the Car Talk guys in it! Ol' Tom and Ray -- Click and Clack the tap it brothers. (Reply to this) |

on Nov 28 2005 10:46 AM The teaser really did not do much for me, and I doubt the full trailer will either. But I will see it anyways. Even Finding Nemo teasers and trailers did nothing for me, yet I fell in love with the movie. So hopefully this will mean Cars will be excellent! Pixar just needs to find a better department to make trailers. I'm not worried. (Reply to this) |

on Nov 28 2005 11:42 AM Pixar is using its place in the minds of the common moviegoer (as in, they consistantly make good films) to its advantage, and they're simply saving the best material for the actual film. They did this with Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, and even The Incredibles...when i first saw the first teaser for this film, i was unimpressed. This new one has made me a little more impressed, but not terribly convinced (Larry the Cable Guy bugs me), but I have no doubt that this will live up to the standards Pixar has set. Their "story first" philosophy is incredibly rare in Hollywood, and its been proven to work time and time again...Keep the advertising the way it, Pixar...I like to leave the best bits unspoiled until i'm safely in a theatre. on Nov 28 2005 11:53 PM Still a Teaser This is still only a teaster trailer. Now, I agree with bacoby13 as well. And I'm glad Pixar doesn't load their trailers with the best parts; unlike Madagascar which, if you saw the trailer, then you already saw any part worth seeing. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Nov 30 2005 11:19 AM Larry the Cable Guy I HATE Larry the Cable guy... "get 'er done" ain't funny, and done to death, I hope PIXAR had the good taste to omit any & all of them (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 01 2005 01:12 PM haha looks like its gonna be good...Pixar Rocks! but of course Disney helps alot too... (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 02 2005 08:40 AM bleah Looks better than the previous teaser...but it still looks very kiddish. I hope that it doesn't end as another "Bug's life" or "Toy story 2". (Reply to this) |

on Dec 03 2005 09:14 AM Yes, I'm not very.. Yes, I'm not very happy with the teaser and full trailer. Looks too much like a children's movie. The only animated film series I have fallen in love with is the Shrek series. Great, Shrek is. Cannot wait for the third installment. Yes, anyway, I'm not looking for Cars to be good. Not JUST because of the trailer. They just seem to not have any crude humor in it. Now THAT I like. (Reply to this) |
