Trailer Bulletin: Miami Vice!
by RT Staff | December 13, 2005
Discuss Article
In arguably the best cross-promotion in recent history, a teaser trailer for the hotly anticipated, woe-stricken, Colin Farrell man-boobs rumor-inducing action flick, "Miami Vice," is being hosted by the good folks at Bacardi, here.

Yes folks, there is much to relish by following this link to view the Michael Mann-directed big-screen version of the most kick-ass cop twosome to grace the airwaves in the 1980s. With Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx playing vice studs Crockett and Tubbs, this trailer's got it all: low-lit shots, nightclub scenes and speedboat chases aplenty! All set to the sounds of Jay-Z's collabo with Linkin Park, this slice of "Miami Vice" is a little bit hip-hop, and a little bit rock and roll.

But wait, that's not all. Remember, this is all courtesy of Bacardi, maker of responsibly-consumed rum -- so after you check out Messrs. Farrell and Foxx in the trailer, you can view Bacardi's campy "Miami Vice" sendup ads, featuring the soft-focus, 80s-coiffed adventures of their own "Vice"-esque duo, Bacardi Guy and Cola. (In order to enter Bacardi's site, be prepared to answer some tough personal data -- you must be 21 years of age, and please drink responsibly!)

"Miami Vice" is a Universal Pictures film and is slated for release July 2006. "Vice" stars Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Gong Li, Naomie Harris, and Spanish thesp Luis Tosar.

Nice! I never knew much about Vice till I saw the first and second season, so I'm really amped up about this. This might be one of the better TV series-to-theaters movies, especially because they got a competent director, not a music video director or a hack.

Mann's not one to underestimate about. He managed to get a solid performance from Tom Cruise. And Farrell is more than the equal of Don Johnson. Hopefully we'll get a similar score with the original theme as the tv show.

Its been, what, about 10 years since "Heat" came out (probably Mann's finest) and hopefully he will do it again but with even more action and just as long. Great use of that Jay-Z/Linkin Park track for the trailer...

5'2? where did you get your info? he's 5'10. Jamie Foxx is around his height as well. just because he's not 6 feet or taller you gotta rag on his height? Tom Cruise, Al Pacino,Robert Deniro and many other actors are not 6 feet tall. i think Colin Farrel is a decent actor. he's no oscar winner but i like his movies.

Live like you mean it
www.bacardilive.com did me wrong. Not only did it crash my non-IE browser, when I finally got to the site I get (using IE) "Miami Vice trailer temporarily down due to high traffic Come Back Soon." It's 4:00am right now, how high could the traffic possibly be?

Wow, if he's 5'10 he sure has worked with some rea
You can add Mel Gibson to that list as well. Those guys are stars with charisma and have actually carried hit movies on their own. Plus you take away Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Johnson's direction and SWAT would have flopped too.

I agree he's not a bad actor but he's the kiss of death to films.
