Guardian Unlimited shares some Michael J. Fox news from Moviehole.net and the lovable guy had a few interesting things to say about the (small) possibility of an additional "Back to the Future" installment. Yes, you're skpetical right now, but deep down you know you'd go see "Back to the Future Part 4." Don't even deny it.

From The Guardian: "Michael J. Fox is once more heading Back to the Future. The 44-year-old actor told Moviehole.net that he is in talks to star in a fourth, and final, film in the franchise, but that he would only do it if he could act his age on screen. "The only way it would work would be if I played Doc [the eccentric scientist played by Christopher Lloyd in the previous three films]. I'm 44-years-old now and I'm not interested in running around on skateboards! I think after 1, 2 and 3 we all kind of felt we had done it. And I think if they did it again now they would do it with a younger cast and just do a different realisation of it, which would be fun.""

I'm taking this with a pinch of salt - nothing about it looks set in stone.

That said, Fox has carried himself with great dignity over the last few years, so if he gets another crack at Marty, and Zemeckis gets on board, and they get a good script, I'm all for it. I wish the fella nothing but the best.

Back the The Future is so completely "80s", and that's the way it should stay. Having a new cast would kill the original spirit (Hollywood would probably modernize the franchise to death and add teen hotties/wacky gross-out comedy) and bringing back the old would feel so sad. It's like, you can never go back to your teen years or the house you grew up in, it won't ever be the same. Stop trying!!

Michael J Fox is indeed "lovable"! He rules.

the first is a classic, the other two are good on an "ehh, alright" level. come on Fox, don't do this. leave it as a trilogy and that's that. besides, you should try out as an Agent for the next Matrix movie instead, since you're probably shaking so fast you can dodge bullets.

seriously, no Back to the Future 4, Michael. don't be like Stallone, don't whore yourself out and revive a tired franchise just for another paycheck.

The Back To The Future movies are those special movies that you can pop into the DVD player and enjoy anytime because of the era they were made. While I'd love to see another one that would match their quality I don't think it's possible because of the old saying;"Timing is eveything."

This has to be a joke. Michael J. Fox has Parkinsons' disease! He quit his television show because he wasn't able to handle the physical movement, and since then he's done nothing but voice work. Unless they're going to confine his character to a wheelchair or some such thing, this isn't going to happen. And as much as I like Fox, let's face it: he's no Christopher Reeve.

It would be great to see Fox back of screen. He's a wonderful actor. Unfortunatly, I do not know how advanced his Parkinsons is but it might get in the way of his audience understanding his character.

As much as I love Back to the Future, I'm uneasy about this. I mean, it could be GREAT but it could also kill one of my childhood loves.

It's sad that Hollywood is obsessed with unnecessary sequels just to make a quick buck at the expense of the originals.

It sounds like MJF wants to do something more for his age. So why not come up with a new, slightly original part for him to play which fits? Write a decent comedy for him and you'll make just as much cash I'm sure. Everyone loves him. We'd all go see it if it was good anyway.

Now, lets get serious. How about Teen Wolf 3?

On the official record, it has been said, resaid, rehashed and then resaid over and over again by both of the Bob's (that's Zemeckis and Gale for those who aren't true fans.) that there will NEVER be a BTTF4. NEVER. they have both repeatedly said that there is NO STORY to do, no Delorean left, and that the train at the end of 3 was a joke for Doc's character and nothing more than a plot device to reunite the cast for one last scene at the end.

now, as far a "moviehole" - what an unreliable P.O.S. website. they never have anything "exclusive" that turns out to be true. these are just more of the unsubstantiated rumours that have been flying around since part 3 came out. it says "The End" - not "To be Continued", i mean c'mon - get with the program.

now don't get me wrong - I LOVE BTTF - the whole movie (that means all 3 chapters - b/c that's all they are - seperate chapters of one story). I've wanted to make movies since i was 6 years old and saw part one. my interests in movies only strengthend as i got older, but it all started with BTTF. now i'm a film major at a large university, and i'll tell you - from a filmmakers standpoint, there's no movie left in the series. anything thought up would be dishonorable to the originals, and be so fucked over that it would tarnish the indeliable image the franchise has now.

so don't buy this shit people. you know some jackass website reporter sprang some question on MJF about what it would take to bring him back, and you know his whole answer was just a hypothetical ponderance. now all of you stop bitching about something that is not gonna happen.

besides, all the true BTTF fans are still waiting for the animated series to come out on DVD, not waiting around for a part 4 that's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!

I would buy it much more if he played an older more mature marty than him playing doc with a younger cast. That would actually be an interesting story, if marty, now in his 40's, had to time travel again. And I agree, there would definitly be something missing if biff wasn't a part of the story. That guy is classic. It would be nice if they threw chris lloyd in there as well
