Trailer Bulletin: Firewall
by Scott Weinberg | January 18, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Good ol' Harrison Ford never gets too old to stop kicking some serious butt, and the 63-year-old actor shows off his stuff in a new action thriller from director Richard Loncraine. It's a heist flick called "Firewall," and you can see the all-new trailer right here.

"With his family held for ransom, the head security executive for a global bank is commanded to loot his own business for millions in order to ensure his wife and children's safety. He then faces the demanding task of thwarting the kidnapper's grand scheme, which makes him look guilty of embezzlement."

Mr. Loncraine's previous films include "Wimbledon," "Richard III," and "The Missionary."

Co-starring Virginia Madsen, Paul Bettany, and Robert Patrick (and written by first-time Joe Forte), "Firewall" busts into theaters on February 10th.

Yea it doesn't look that original but it is a good cast, and I'm sure that Bettany will be an interesting bad guy.

Harrison Ford is amazing because he knows what he does best and sticks to it. It's nothing short of genius that Harrison Ford is the only actor who doesn't do very many 'heavy' rolls but is universal excepted as brilliant in the past thirty years. Personally I think he's much more old school than one-dimensional you look at the kind of roles he does and they're really not all that different than what Clark Gable, Cary Grant, or Jimmy Stewart did.

I believe that is why Harrison Ford has been so successful not only b/c he picks roles that maximize his talents, but also b/c he picks roles within films that the majority of people will actually enjoy and will pay money to see.

Kind of a lame premise, but Harrison Ford's a fun actor who doesn't realize he's outdated (lose the earring -- you, too, Ed Bradley).

I'm glad to see him back in the theatre, it's been too long. I will see this movie either opening weekend or the weekend after. Interesting concept and it looks very entertaining.

Lets just hope Indy 4 happens before he turns 85. At the rate of development (how many writers now have taken a crack at the script?), we'll be lucky if it comes out this decade.

Cheers,
Kevin
