"Serenity" Star Hears Sequel "Noise"
Nathan Fillion (aka Firefly Capt. Malcolm Reynolds) has signed on to star in Universal's upcoming sequel to "White Noise," and he'll be co-starring with another small-screen sci-fi star: "Battlestar Galactica's" Katee Sackhoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, ""White Noise 2: The Light" has attracted two space stars into its orbit. Nathan Fillion, who starred in Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi series "Firefly" and subsequent movie "Serenity," is set to star in the horror movie while Katee Sackhoff, who plays "Starbuck" in the acclaimed "Battlestar Galactica" TV series, is in negotiations to topline with him. Patrick Lussier is directing. In the sequel to the 2005 hit, a man's family is murdered, but he is brought back from the brink of death. The man realizes he has changed and can now identify those among the living who are about to die. When he tries to save people from their fate, he discovers there is a price to paid for interfering with the natural order. Matt Venne wrote the script."

LampEft writes: on Feb 14 2006 01:35 PM Surprised. Wasn't White Noise something of a flop? I see its box office take was a bit under $56 millio, but perhaps that is enough to warrant making a follow-up. Just doesn't seem very impressive. Then again, I guess it all depends on what the film itself cost. (Reply to this) |

He's in Slither too, which should be good for him, but will probably not get him the supporting role in the next Harrison Ford movie. The other things he's done have been made for SciFi movies and such, and you know what those are like. I think, based on how the movie is described, that it could stand on its own. It sounds more like a cross between Sixth Sense and Final Destination anyway. The Sequel stuff should just be scrapped, and it should be given its own title. (Reply to this) |
