The British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) held their annual awards presentation on February 21st, and they managed to dole out some love for an interesting variety of films and filmmakers -- most of which have been on the receiving end of other awards already, but they're good choices anyway, if it's me you're asking.

One person who I'm damn glad won and hasn't even been nominated for anything else to my knowledge is Thandie Newton.

Harry Potter finally got his homeland award!
Harry Potter finally got first BAFTA award!
Don't blame Oscar, even BAFTA never give any award until GOF. Last year, POA seemed had an award but it's voting.
First two is mediocre directing so it was not surprise, third one is unlucky, it was not fresh for judges though directing and visual improved, the flaw was caused by script so there is no hope for script adaptation in both BAFTA & OSCAR for all HP films.

Yeah, Thandie
I also am pleased to see Thandie Newton's name among the winners. To me her performance was superior to most of the Oscar nominees. I will quarrel once again, and I have said this in other forums at other times, Jake Gyllenhaal was not a supporting role in BM. The only reason he is in the category is to give Heath a better shot at Best Actor, i.e. two candidates from the same movie cancelling each other out.
