This New Photo Album is Super, Man!
Right here at Rotten Tomatoes you can find an all-new photo album filled with 35 snapshots from Bryan Singer's upcoming "Superman Returns" (maybe you've heard about it by now). Featuring production stills and a few behind-the-scenes pics, the collection is the closest we're going to get to Superman ... at least until the first trailer shows up! (Hint, hint, WB!)
"Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes. While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, Superman faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life. Or has she? Superman's bittersweet return challenges him to bridge the distance between them while finding a place in a society that has learned to survive without him. In an attempt to protect the world he loves from cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space."

"Superman Returns" features newcomer Brandon Routh in the title role, and to say the kid has ample support behind him would be a massive understatement. Also along for the ride are Kevin Spacey (as Lex Luthor), Kate Bosworth (as Lois Lane), Frank Langella (as Perry White), Sam Huntington (as Jimmy Olsen), and Parker Posey as "Kitty Kowalski."
Directed by "X"-man Bryan Singer and written by his former mutant-mates Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the much-anticipated "Superman Returns" soars into theaters on June 30th.

on Mar 31 2006 10:15 AM Super what? I am sorry to say that this movie looks horrible. The chances of me seeing it in the theater are zero to none. I am just amazed at how bad this looks. My prediction is that it will be the new Incredible Hulk...big opening weekend and then drop off big the next weekend. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2006 10:28 AM In reply to this comment (#833014) Don't Judge too Quickly!!! How can you judge a movie from pictures alone?? This is all we've seen, pictures and an amazing teaser trailer. Lets think positive!! I have high hopes for this movie and I think it'll be one of the top movies of the year. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2006 11:25 AM In reply to this comment (#833015) I agree with you. This should be the top grossing movie of 2006. I just hope it will be better than the overrated Spider-man 2. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2006 11:27 AM Another Batman Begins or More Cheese? My bet is that this will be another Batman Begins. The only thing that's bothering me is the fact that it picks up after Christopher Reeve's Superman II instead of starting over with a fresh new look and perspective the way it was done with Batman. However, the fact that Bryan Singer is the force behind it may be enough to take the geekiness out of Superman. Having Kevin Spacey as Lex doesn't hurt either. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2006 03:39 PM In reply to this comment (#833015) I have this simple little theory that if something looks bad then it is bad. This philosophy has served me well over the years...I would say 99% of the time it holds true. This looks bad, really bad. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Mar 31 2006 07:01 PM The trailer I saw made it seem just like a remake of the first film. What's with all the Kent farm stuff? (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2006 08:51 PM In reply to this comment (#833020) Flashbacks The scenes on the Kent farm are flashbacks of Superman's childhood memories. I have full confidence that if anyone can successfully revive the Superman franchise, it's Bryan Singer. "Superman 3 & 4" were both awful movies (4 is particularly bad), so I think it's best they are ignored. Production stills from a film (which has not had all its FX shots laid in) are never an indicator of quality. And it's story that drives a good movie, anyway. If the script is good, the movie will be, too. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Mar 31 2006 09:01 PM I'm kind of glad they're not doing a "Begins"-style movie. Superman's origin has been done to death. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 02 2006 09:31 AM I don't understand how this absence is gonna play out, clark kent was absent also? then it's like: "hey, I'm back, could I have my old job back, please?" (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 02 2006 11:56 AM i have a bad feeling about this movie. I was not impressed by the teaser at all. Hopefully this series will start off fresh like batman did with the great movie batman begins. I guess i will have to wait for the full trailer to come out to be able to better judge this movie, but so far im not impressed (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 02 2006 06:19 PM Looks bad Since there's nothing else to go on, don't you have to go on what you see? And what's up with that cape? (Reply to this) |

on Apr 02 2006 07:58 PM In reply to this comment (#833026) lavatory love machine CK is on leave from the daily Planet. His mom is send Lois Post Cards that are from all over the globe to make it seem like he is still here but traveling. Superman goes back to Krypton to see if anything is left of his home. This movie is so gonna rock this summer. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 02 2006 08:13 PM Didnt Krypton blow up and that is why Kal-El was sent to earth??? This movie is going to Blow up just like Krypton--which is a shame. p s The maroon color bugs me --why couldnt they have just left it red? (Reply to this) |

on Apr 02 2006 10:23 PM I wouldna't have a problem with it being some years after 2, if they didn't pick two extremly young stars. Shouldn't htye be in their 30's for this movie? Kate is what..22 and looks 16. Routhe doesn't look a day over 24. (Reply to this) |
|
on Apr 03 2006 12:27 PM Hilarious. I'm sorry, but Brandon Routhe looks more like a stripper on his way to a bachelorette party dressed as Superman - than the man of steel himself. You know, he knocks on the door dressed as Clark Kent, puts down the boom box and cranks up the Superman theme. Then he proceeds to peel off his suit and tie to reveal the Superman costume and then strips that down to his lil red panties and the giant "S" - The women go wild! I can already see myself in the theater laughing my ass off! No. I don't think I'll be seeing this movie. On a side note. At least Lois Lane doesn't look like a chain smoking, drugged out crank whore in this one! (Reply to this) |

on Apr 03 2006 08:08 PM Personally, I can't wait for a new Superman movie. Also, put some trust in Bryan Singer. This guy started off the comic book movie movement and did not screw up while doing it. On a side note, Freakonate, are you talking about Margot Kidder? (Reply to this) |
