Trailer Bulletin: The Zodiac
by Scott Weinberg | April 10, 2006
Discuss Article
Not to be confused with the upcoming and similarly themed David Fincher flick Zodiac, ThinkFilm's The Zodiac is a new fact-based crime thriller starring Justin Chambers, Philip Baker Hall, Rory Culkin, and Robin Tunney. Check out the trailer right here.

"Based on true events, The Zodiac is a psychological thriller detailing a string of gruesome murders in the Bay Area in the late 1960s and the impact on the victims, their families and the wider community. A small town cop (Justin Chambers) and his son (Rory Culkin) become obsessed with the Zodiac killer, endangering their family in the midst of the explosive media frenzy surrounding one of the most notorious and elusive serial killers in American history."

The Zodiac
opened in limited release last month, and presently holds a Tomatometer rating of (gulp) 14%. (Bring on the Fincher version!)

I don't know if this is by the same company that makes those straight to video serial killer movies like Dahmer, Gacy, and Bundy, but if so I will check it out, as those movies are pretty good. More dramatic than gory, and they mess up the facts some, but the solid acting usually is what sells them for me. I can't see a movie about Zodiac having a very satisfying conclusion, though.

I like the cast but 14% is pretty F'n bad, I can hardly wait for Fincher's version.
