Aronofsky's "Fountain" Gets a Release Date

AICN informs us that Darren Aronofsky's cool-looking and slow-arriving "The Fountain" will now hit the screens on October 13th.

"Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world."

Written and directed by Darren Aronofsky ("Requiem for a Dream"), and starring Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, Ellen Burstyn, and Sean Patrick Thomas, "The Fountain" looks ... pretty darn awesome.

It was a really awesome movie when I saw it, though I'm positive a lot will change between the test screening I saw and October (man, that's a wait).

For those of you who can't wait, Aronofsky wrote a graphic novel that Kent Williams painted. It's not based directly on the movie from what I understand, just part of the same universe. It's shiny.
