by Gitesh Pandya | June 04, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

Nosy moviegoers just couldn't stay away from a high-profile lovers quarrel as the anti-romantic comedy The Break-Up starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston surprised the industry this weekend by opening at number one, shoving the comic book juggernaut X-Men: The Last Stand into second place in only its second weekend. I dont care that it was #1 but with $38 million--that was just nutz.
And for the record Jennifer Anniston isnt hot, very attractive or even a very good actress. Just an over-hyped Friends star

i agree, anniston is not hot, haha. the movie should not have made this much, i mean, it isn't a love comedy really, but i still liked it for being anti-romance.

now just think X3 sunk to the break up, and yet the fanboys will still boast about how great X3 is. yup, so great it got romped by anniston and vince.

yup yup.

let's face it
Most of us are done with overly cheesy nice-ity nice-ity movies right now...life sucks, relationships are torturous, and do any of us really make enough money to pay the bills?

And she got dumped by Brad Pitt for Angelina--OUCH

I never watched Friends, but good for her for taking her personal sh*t and swinging it back onto the screen--that's how the most interesting (if not always the best--) movies get made--

Nice way to get back into the game--you took the people kicking at you when you were down, grabbed their leg, then flipped them on their backs like a move out of a karate movie--

Congrats.

Tara

To all those who dislike Jennifer, be mad at the success.

What success. This is her first hit in years. And the movie was even that good. Word of mouth will kill this film.

if the movie isn't billed as a romantic comedy it will be just fine. as a drama romance it is a good film.

There is no way that it will rule until Superman, with Click coming out before Superman. Sadler's comedy's make money and this will to.
