Exclusive: "Wassup Rockers" Clip
We got our hands on an exclusive clip from Larry Clark's "Wassup Rockers" that shows the main characters rocking out in an impromtu performance. The movie centers on a group of South Central Latino teenagers who are into punk rock rather than the hip-hop culture embraced by their peers. When they journey deep into Beverly Hills to skate the famous "Nine Stairs," they attract attention that will force them to run to the safety of their own neighborhood.
"Wassup Rockers" opens this Friday in New York. Check out the clip here.

They're into punk music, so they're rockers, but they're Hispanic so they say "Wassup", so I guess that makes for a really awful title (I hope they don't actually call themselves that). This combined with the gothic font of the poster just annoys me to no end. I don't judge movies before I see them, but the poster just screams to me "old white guy's view of hispanic kids into punk rock." (Reply to this) |
