dylan21484nj writes: on Jun 29 2006 04:36 AM i went to the Lincoln Square opening of Superman Returns IMAX 3D on Tuesday night, and it was indeed a madhouse. there was some kind of computer malfunction, so they had to check everyone's credit cards one at a time for their ticket purchases and this pushed the movie back to around 10:45 or 11. talk about the worst timing for a computer malfunction. and i'm guessing the press and some VIP's were getting to see the movie first, since while standing on line to get in, i saw people leaving the theater with little tin Superman novelty lunchboxes and wearing those press pass badge things with Superman Returns on them. at least i got a Superman Returns T-shirt, but i'm still wondering who the hell do i have to know to get to see the movie like them instead of putting up with computer malfunctions and standing on a massive line for an hour. and don't pay much mind to Roger Ebert's review, i believe he gave a thumbs down to the first Spider-Man, did he not? that's why you don't base your opinion of a movie on a single critic. hell, that's why Rotten Tomatoes exists, so you can get a consensus of what all the critics are saying and make a judgment call from a whole pool of reviews.
