Paul W.S. Anderson Choosing Between "Death Race 3000" and "Castlevania"
According to IGN FilmForce, "Bolt insists that "Death Race" is now closer to happening than it ever has been before. "Paul came in and wrote a script, got it a lot closer, and I think we should be making an announcement in the next two or three weeks."
The producer also says the tone of the remake will differ from that of the original film. "We've basically taken the idea of reality television and extended it twenty years. So it's definitely a comment on society, and particularly reality television, but it is not as much a parody or a satire as the original. It's more straight."
And regarding the "Castlevania" flick: "Bolt says, "We're trying to do is integrate a Dracula origin story with "Castlevania," with the story of the Belmonts." Bolt added that the film will reference back to the earlier versions of the game, as well as the new incarnation of "Castlevania."
"There's a fair amount of references. We always try to give the fans something that respects their love of the game but also give them something completely new. So we've added a whole new spin to "Castlevania.""
