A New Director in the Bond Franchise?
by Scott Weinberg | July 17, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
We haven't been able to check out "Casino Royale" yet, but apparently the Bond-makers already have their eyeballs focused on the NEXT spy adveture. Early word is that Roger Michell ("Changing Lanes") may be the one behind the camera on that production.

From The Hollywood Reporter: "As the world awaits the debut of Daniel Craig as the latest Agent 007, the producers of "Casino Royale" are busy making plans for the next chapter in the James Bond franchise. U.K.-based helmer Roger Michell is in negotiations to direct the follow-up to "Casino Royale," which has a working title of "Bond 22."

Mr. Michell's other films include "Notting Hill," "Enduring Love," and the upcoming "Venus."

Also, film ick is reporting that the "Bond 22" screenwriter may be none other than Tom Stoppard, the highly decorated wordsmith whose previous films include "Brazil," "Shakespeare in Love," and "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead."
