Blog Article | Discuss Article
This morning, Paramount released the very first image from their upcoming and as yet untitled Star Trek XI film at San Diego Comic-Con 2006. The image is a colorful, sleek treatment of the classic logo and hints at big changes for the popular sci-fi movie series.

Take a look at the one-sheet, and stay tuned to IGN for more information about the newest Trek.

"hints at big changes for the popular sci-fi movie series"

Hmmmmm... this could be very good or very bad.
I can see it now, Paramount execs:

"why not bring Captain Kirk back, but we will give him superpowers, kinda like superman and call him The Kirko and have a big ST on his stomach and his crew can have all different powers, kinda like xmen but they will be aliens from different planets..."

I can see it now! YESS! :D

Hmmm...I've read all the prequel rumors and honestly, I'm just not excited to see that, particularly after Enterprise, a prequel series, failed. Let's hope J. J. comes up with some a little bit more clever than a rehash of what worked in the past.

I'm excited about this, the franchise needs someone whos a trek fan at the helm. But not so much of one they'll come up with some retarded way to bring kirk back. As long as no one has any ties to bringbackkirk.com, I'm happy.
