Trailer Bulletin: Hartnett, Scarlett & Swank in De Palma's "Black Dahlia"
Master of suspense / veteran storyteller / admirer of Hitchcock / Brian De Palma has a new film on the horizon, his first since 2002's "Femme Fatale," and it looks to be a pretty good one. Starring Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johansson, and Hilary Swank, "The Black Dahlia" is an old-school Hollywood murder-mystery based on the novel by James Ellroy. And there's a trailer.
Click right here to see the "Black Dahlia" theatrical trailer, which I happen to think looks pretty darn solid.
Synopsis: "Two cops, Lee Blanchard and Bucky Bleichert, investigate the grisly homicide of actress Elizabeth Short a.k.a. "The Black Dahlia." While Blanchard's preoccupation with the murder threatens his relationship with Kay, his partner Bleichert finds himself attracted to the enigmatic Madeleine, who just happens to have a connection to the victim."
Also on board are Aaron Eckhart, Rose McGowan, Gregg Henry, and the lovely Mia Kirshner. Screenplay adaptation comes from Josh Friedman, who co-wrote "War of the Worlds" and also keeps a very excellent blog.
"The Black Dahlia" opens on September 15th.

on Jul 29 2006 08:23 PM Agreed - the trailer is damn interesting. If the film itself has half the energy of the trailer I'll be very happy. I really hope it's good... (Reply to this) |
