Paul Giamatti to Star as Philip K. Dick
Summary
He night not be as famous as H.G. Wells or Isaac Asimov, but ask a sci-fi enthusiast what they think of Philip K. Dick, and get ready for a lengthy conversation. The late and legendary author is earning himself as posthumous biopic, and it looks like Oscar-nominee Paul Giamatti will be playing the central role. Back to Article

Now it's dark writes: on Aug 08 2006 07:52 AM I hope they call it Dick. Or was that done already. I'd like to see a movie about H.P. Lovecraft. (Reply to this) |

aconline writes: on Aug 08 2006 11:17 AM In reply to this comment (#841744) Whoops I saw that, too. He has only been nominated one time. He should have won for Cinderella Man. George Clooney shouldn't have been in that category. He is top billed on Syriana. Poor Paul shouls also have been nominated for American Splendor and Sideways. But oh well. He is "young." They will wait until he is old to give it to him for an undeserving role when he should have gotten it last year, ie Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, James Cobrun, etc, etc, etc. Hang in there, Paul. Reel 2/Dialogue 2 writes: on Aug 09 2006 05:02 AM In reply to this comment (#841741) There's already a Nixon-era comedy called Dick with Kirstend Dunst and Michelle Williams. Good stuff. I guess they could call it "K". What does that stand for, anyhoo? I'd also go for a Lovecraft biopic. (Reply to this) |

Hieremias writes: on Aug 09 2006 05:44 AM Enh... a movie based on Lovecraft's writings would be excellent. A movie based on Lovecraft's life would be... well, less than exciting. Unless severe depression and incest make for an interesting film. (Reply to this) |

The Paki Don writes: on Aug 09 2006 06:23 AM In reply to this comment (#841748) The "K" in Phillip K. Apparently, the "K" doesn't stand for anything, however, it's taken from his mother's maiden name, which was Dorothy "K"indred. I would have liked it to have been Phillip Krüger Dick, but, alas, no dice. (Reply to this) |

And I hate Clooney, but he kicked in Syriana. And... Cinderella Man sucked! Balls, Donkey balls... clitoral fungus... it SUCKED! (Reply to this) |
