Will Smith's "Legend" Stakes a Long Shoot
by Scott Weinberg | August 16, 2006
Discuss Article
We pretty much expected Francis Lawrence's "I Am Legend" adaptation to be a "big" movie, but with a production schedule of over six months, it looks to be a really BIG movie.

From Production Weekly: "An over half-year production schedule has been set for the Will Smith sci-fi vehicle "I Am Legend," the adaptation of Richard Matheson's 1954 novel to be directed by "Constantine" helmer Francis Lawrence. Rose City Pictures Inc. will begin (principal) photography on September 23rd and continue filming until March 31 in New York City. The post-apocalyptic thriller will be in theaters November 21st, 2007."

Six months in New York? Does that include vacation time?

Looking forward to this one. "Constantine" was a bad movie no doubt, but what made it at least entertaining was the direcor, Lawrence, realization that he was dealing with an awful script and a studio who probably wanted it made quicky. So he made the movie flow as fast as possible, each scene going so fast you didn't have time to think about how bad the writing really is. It was a smart move. It made for a fun ride...

really i hope this movie is good. With this length of the production schedule it should be good but if this isnt a good movie it will be one major flop and/or disaster.
