Sam Jackson Planning "Snakes On A Plane" Sequel?

Perhaps it was just a moment of inspired movie promotion, but when Samuel L. Jackson appeared on "The Daily Show" last night to talk "Snakes On A Plane," he hinted at the inevitable: "Snakes On A Plane 2"!

Well, hint is a strong word. And if you really don't want to hear a spoiler from the film, don't read this sentence: Sam Jackson does not die in "SOAP," he told Stewart. The reason? "Sequel!"

"Get these Motha******* snakes off this Motha******* plane -- AGAIN!"

Elsewhere in the segment, Jackson revealed that, like film critics across the nation denied press screenings, he has not yet seen the completed film. No matter; he's obviously expecting New Line's blogosphere-enhanced marketing push to pay off in a big opening this week, and is looking forward to wrangling a bigger paycheck for the next "SOAP":

"I did not sign a sequel contract, so I can negotiate my ass off," he told an excited Stewart as they cut to commercial.

Thanks to the magic of YouTube, you can watch the clip here!

I caught that interview this morning, and it really was hilarious. I'm not sure whether or not he was serious about the sequel. He actually said he doesn't die because he's the hero, and then Jon replied, "Well, there's the other reason, right?" which prompted Jackson to shout "Sequel!"

But it really was a funny interview.

i really hope this has a huge opening (north of 70 mil) cos it would turn the movie industry upside down. i kinda feel sorry for little miss sunshine though but i hope it still does well

What's happened to hollywood. This movie is just a joke. I hope it bombs just so the idiots who came up with the idea don't get paid.

The sequel should be called "Snakes On A Train". Planes are old news...

@ASchmitty: I get what you mean, but I don't mind as long as it tries to be fun and campy.

I think they should try going in another direction: Bears on a Plane.

If any movie deserves a sequel, it's this. I just watched it twice, and it is the most fun i've ever had at a movie. This one takes every bad cliche, combines them with the worst idea in hollywood history, and makes something that is equally funny and scary. This movie was definitely made for the fans, and every scene proves it.

I don't think Jackson should do a sequel. A movie like this - one's enough. Maybe he should reunite with Quentin Tarantino.

Still, I AM gonna see "Snakes on a Plane."

I was in Blockbuster yesterday and actually saw a direct-to-video DVD called "Snakes on a Train." How fast do you think they shot that?

I just want to know when Jackson will tackle the problem of crying babies on a plane...cause that's annoying.
or maybe a Jurassic Park crossover...Raptors in first class!
