![]() on Aug 22 2006 05:45 PM Boll should have challenged more talented directors (James Cameron, Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, hell, even Tony Scott) and hoped that by beating them up, he would gain their powers through osmosis. Just picture him squaring off against that hobbit I mean Peter Jackson. Priceless (Reply to this) |

on Aug 23 2006 04:29 PM I need a pic Someone needs to throw a link to a pic of Uwe Boll on here. What are these guys up against? I want to see the fight and I hope all the critics train so they can beat the crap out of him. Maybe he'll go into a coma and not be able to make movies again! (Reply to this) |

on Aug 23 2006 06:57 PM lets look at the glass as being half full I am a big fan of the game House of the Dead for the xbox so when i saw the previews from the film on the game disk i was thinking wow this could be one of the best zombie movies ever made so i began showing the preview to all of my horror film loving friends that come to my house for screenings every week and admittedly we were fairly excited then we saw the movie and my embarrassment began....lol I will say this about it though...that is Erica Durance of Smallville fame getting naked on the beach then becoming a victim...lol I believe the women look great and i like the battle scene which utilizes the turntable with the cameras however that is about it. Being the horror film fans that we are though i also purchased Alone in the Dark and Bloodrayne for screening and to Mr. Boll's credit i think he has improved with each film he has gotten under his belt and he is right about one thing...for so many people to hate House of the Dead like they do...a lot sure have seen it...i am not a big fan of it but i know i have seen it six times...lol so something is going on here. Alone in the Dark was a real stinker though and he seems to think because it has a few good effects that it doesn't deserve criticism. Effects do not a good movie make. I like the Bloodrayne games and have had fun playing them...i love redheads and vampires so it was a natural for me...lol My group and i were actually pleasantly surprised with Bloodrayne the film and personally i do not believe it is as bad as people say it is. I suppose if you are expecting Mr. Boll to make War and Peace it is easy to crap on his films but let's just take them for what they are which should just be fun little movies that really don't mean much in the big scheme of things. I don't think any critic in his right mind would ever give an Uwe Boll film a good review because of the bad word of mouth which surrounds him like a Starr Jones fart cloud but i feel like he has some potential to eventually make a film that is well liked. I have most of Jess Franco's films and although he has over a hundred of them none of them are any good...i like to joke with my buddies before i subject them to one of Mr. Franco's "films" that i am going to buy every one of them and we are going to watch them because i know one has to be good and i will find it by god...lol I also agree with the gentleman that said Bloodrayne was better than Boogeyman. We actually had fun with Bloodrayne but we were booing Boogeyman off of my 57 inch widescreen...lol I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and i liked Bloodrayne and i will watch any other movie Mr Boll comes out with because he is kind of like Ed Wood in a way and sometimes even Ed was entertaining. ![]() on Aug 25 2006 11:39 PM As much as I would love to see Uwe Boll's boxing idea blow up in his face, I think he'll beat all of those critics. Even if he wins the fights, he'll never get any better at making movies. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 26 2006 05:13 AM The dvd of the boxing matches will get a higher rating than his movies. Of course, a box of kitty litter would get a higher rating than his movies. Boll should have been the combatant in the latest Rocky movie. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2006 03:46 PM Uwe Boll should be slapped by a bare hand... and not punched with a soft boxing glove. Whoever goes into the ring with him should just slap him around the entire time. Has anyone else heard that Uwe Boll wants to make the Metal Gear movie? I hope I'm not the only person who feels the urge to kill him for even thinking he's talented enough make the Metal Gear movie. Hideo Kojima should just walk into the ring and shoot Uwe Boll in the knees. His movies only make profit because of the rediculously low budgets he makes them for. Any movie can profit when you only spend 20-30 milliion on it and market it for 10-20 million. He makes horrible movies. Anyone who supports or defends Uwe Boll is a clueless moron and has absolutely no taste. UWE BOLL SUCKS DONKEY DICK. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2006 09:37 PM leave the guy alone! for good sakes leave the guy alone he is doing what he loves although i dont like his movies and i think he is going a bit over the top with these challenges. at the end of the day he has a family to go home too and if you dont like his movies then dont f****n watch them and yes i also take the piss out of him because i dont like his movies the ones i have seen that is. but i know people who do love his work i have three freinds who do like his movies and if he is making money then daa he is there for a reason!give the guy some respect for at least doin what he loves!like i said i dont like his movies but i dont share the same opinion as everyone else!he is following his dreams n making money unlike me and all you very sad people who are too scared too look past your computer screens! on Aug 28 2006 12:45 PM In reply to this comment (#842798) I hope this unintelligent rant was not a shot at me for sort of defending Mr. Boll because i am far from a clueless moron as i own well over 6000 movies...both good and bad my friend. I have seen movies so terrible they would turn your hair white and i know a good movie when i'm watching one as well as a bad one however if i choose to like it then that makes it what is known as a guilty pleasure and if you are a movie fan you have a few of those. David Lynch is my favorite director and in my opinion makes great films but i know there are idiots er excuse me people out there that don't like him but i am not going to go on some angry rant over it. People are entitled to their INFORMED opinion and in my opinion Mr. Bolls films while not being great they are also not as terrible as some of the fanboys have made them out to be. Sure i don't much care for House of the Dead but i have seen it a few times....Alone in the Dark was pretty bad although Mr. Boll says there is a longer cut of the film that supposed to better out there, but i think Bloodrayne was unfairly maligned strictly because Mr. Boll directed it. How are people to ever know if the guy makes a good movie if morons are out there giving them bad reviews just because his name is attached to it? That is hardly fair. I play video games and have all three major sytems so i understand that a gamer may feel that he gives video game based films a bad rep but come on how many good ones are out there anyway? Doom sucked! Mario Bros...Mortal Kombat.......Final Fantasy....Street Fighter...all sucked too and guess what people.....they weren't directed by Uwe Boll so lets not blame him entirely for bringing the video game based movie down as others have been doing that years before Mr. Boll came onto the scene. The best video game based movies out there in my opinion are both Resident Evil movies as well as Silent Hill. I love and have played all versions of Resident Evil's and The Silent Hill series so sure i guess i am a little biased but i guess most folks are to a certain extent. Someone out there thinks the man has talent because he certainly does continue to get financing for his films and good actors to star in them. I agree with the previous poster Mr. Rimmer that the guy is following a dream, he is successful, he is continuing to make films so i guess we all better just get used to that fact. You all also seem to be missing the point of this boxing publicity stunt...sure it is over the top but what director wouldn't want to get a free shot in on his most vocal critics. Personally i hate most critics so i hope Mr. Boll kicks all their asses and leaves them bruised, bloodied, and battered in a pool of their own tears and excrement. (Reply to this) |
