Andre Braugher Joins "Fantastic Four" Sequel
Commanding character actor Andre Braugher is the latest to join the cast of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," but Fox isn't telling us who the guy's playing!
From Variety by way of IGN FilmForce: "Braugher dropped out of a supporting role in an "ER" story arc in order to join the Marvel-Fox sequel, reports Variety. Forest Whitaker will replace Braugher on the long-running medical series. Braugher was most recently seen in the short-lived FX series "Thief," as well as the captain of the doomed title ship in this summer's "Poseidon."
"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" is in pre-production, gearing up for an Aug. 28 start date in Vancouver under the direction of Tim Story."

on Aug 25 2006 08:37 AM Braugher is a great actor... which makes me wonder why he took this job. (Reply to this) |

![]() on Aug 25 2006 03:16 PM The rest of the film may be a turd sandwich (unless it's that whole odd-even Star Trek thing), but Braugher's a class act. The only problem is I just don't think Story knows what to do with talent like that. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 25 2006 11:17 PM He COULD be the Surfer Guy's got a great speaking voice, and I wouldn't mind hearing him as the Silver Surfer if they still decide to just do a CG character. IMDB says that Doug Jones, the actor that actually played Abe Sapien in Hellboy, is "rumored" to be playing Surfer, whatever that means. I hadn't seen that anywhere else, and IMDB seems to be a little behind the curve at times, so that could mean nothing. Anyway, if the Surfer's going to be CG, they may as well go with someone like Braugher that has a pretty distinguished and recognizable voice. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2006 10:46 AM He has to be one of the most underused / underappreciated actors I've ever seen. His Frank Pembleton from Homicide: Life on the Street was a true force of nature. Now, if they could just make Fantastic 2 not suck.... (Reply to this) |

on Aug 27 2006 01:04 PM WHY!! Andre Braugher is a fantastic actor, especially on "Homicide: Life on teh Streets", and while I'm not a big fan of ER, I bet any random episode has more quality in the openibg credits then Fantastic 4 had in it;s entire length. They most of offered him quite a bit of money, but this definitly wont be Braugher's break-out (and long deserved) performance on the big screen. (Reply to this) |
