High-Impact "Flyboys" Battle Clip Online
by Scott Weinberg | August 29, 2006

You've probably already seen the half-flashy, half corny trailer for Tony Bill's "Flyboys" by now, and if so you probably remember some of the cool-looking bi-plane dogfights. Now, in an effort to further entice the action fans to check the movie out, MGM is offering a 5.5-minute battle clip for your enjoyment.

Thanks to ComingSoon.net for directing us towards the clip: "Yahoo! Movies has your first look at a 5 1/2 minute battle scene from MGM's "Flyboys," opening September 22. The clip features Blaine Rawlings (James Franco) and his team of fighter pilots battling the Germans.

The movie, directed by Tony Bill, also stars Martin Henderson, Jean Reno, Jennifer Decker, David Ellison, Mac McDonald, Tchéky Karyo and Ian Rose."

Hey, WWI dogfights rock, so I just saw the only thing I really wanted to see in this movie. And 6 minutes of it was enough to get it outta my system! So thanks, MGM, for saving me 8 bucks. Duh!

And listening to the beginning, I was reminded of History of the World Part 1...

"... we are so poor we don't even have our own language. All we have is this ridiculous accent." "It's true, we all talk like Maurice Chevalier, honh-honh-honh!"

YUUMMMM!!
You can smell the castor oil, gun smoke and CHIVALRY. Or is it the aroma of CHEESE?
As much as I love the subject matter and feel that WW I doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves I fear this one has PEARL HARBOR written all over it. I shall remain hopefull as ever but won't let my guard down.

It's James Franco...in a period piece. How could it be (really) bad?

Flyboys stays true to the real-life story its base
i can tell from your comment that you're a very ignorant person. do you make all your movie viewing choices based on such poorly informed judgment calls?? you can never tell what a movie's gonna be like by watching only 6 minutes of it and since no one has seen the movie yet its misleading and wrong for you to make such sweeping generalizations. i personally think Flyboys has great potential. the fighter planes look authentic; every description i've read of this movie said the filmmakers really honored the facts of these real-life pilots' lives which is rare in Hollywood and the action scenes kept me on my toes. i'm certainly gonna be in line for this movie!
