James Bond Loves Heineken Beer (and a new poster!)
by Scott Weinberg | September 15, 2006
Discuss Article
Not too long ago we shared with you the astonishingly fascinating news that James Bond prefers Smirnoff Vodka over all the other brands. But if you're not a vodka person and you'd still like to be just like 007, feel free to order a Heineken.

Movie marketing schpiel courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter: "Amsterdam-based brewing giant Heineken is forging ahead with a ground-breaking six-figure promotional partnership with Eon Prods. and Sony Pictures Entertainment for the upcoming Bond outing "Casino Royale." The original work is one of the few 007 adventures written by creator Ian Fleming in which the spy drinks beer. Heineken International's promotional campaign for the 21st Bond picture will include a television commercial featuring Bond girl Eva Green that was directed by Oscar-winner Stephen Gaghan. The ad was shot on the movie's Czech Republic set earlier this year. It marks the first time a commercial product has been allowed access to the actual Bond set to shoot an ad, Heineken said."

Mmmm, beeeer....

We're not yet sure which brands of deodorant, cat food, ice cream, and breakfast cereals Commander Bond prefers, but we'll be sure to let you know so you can plan your supermarket trips accordingly.

In slightly more compelling "Casino Royale" news, JoBlo has a nifty new one-sheet for the flick. Check that out right here.

Man, I just have to know!
I love it when i find out what brand name, a fictional hero, purchases. Just last week, my imaginary friend and I decided he would only eat Boo Berry Cereal and Glenfiditch 12 year old scotch.
Now, you guys go out and buy the same!

If you knew Craig's work, you'd know that is from an earlier film titled Layer Cake, in which he was fantastic. Your opinions of his bond-ness will change November 17th.

I agree, Craig is going to be a great Bond. He's going to bring a bit of rough and ready to the role. I'm looking forward to this BIG TIME

Ditto on Layer Cake. Craig makes an interesting change of pace to the Bond franchise. I would have preferred Clive Owen or Jason Statham, but after seeing Layer I think Craig will put the naysayers to rest.

I couldn't see Statham playing Bond, but Clive Owen could probably get the job done. I'm still on the fence about this movie, I can't tell if I'm going to love it or hate it. I never really thought of Bond as a beer person, it just doesn't seem like his style.
