Max Von Sydow, Roman Polanski, and Hiroyuki Sanada to Appear in "Rush Hour 3"?
by Scott Weinberg | September 22, 2006

Talk about some weird casting news: Seems that not only Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan will be appearing in the long-anticipated (and I've no idea why) "Rush Hour 3," but director Brett Ratner has also found room for folks like Max Von Sydow, Roman Polanski, and Hiroyuki Sanada. Weird.

From USA Today: ""In the first movie Jackie was a fish out of water (in L.A), then Chris was one in the second movie (in Hong Kong). Now they are both fish out of water," says director Brett Ratner ("X-Men: The Last Stand"). Targeted for an August 2007 release, Rush Hour 3's villains include one played by Hiroyuki Sanada ("The Last Samurai"). "He's a brilliant actor with a martial arts background who has done some incredible films," Ratner says. Also in the cast: Max Von Sydow and Roman Polanski."

Like I said... Weird.

I guess the film involves an exorcist and the birth of demonic child.

I can only stand to watch a Roman Polanski film when he is behind the camera, seeing him on screen will only remind me how unforgivable what he did to that little girl was. He is a great artist but when it came time to face what he did he ran, and no ammount of treatment and rehabilitation could forgive that

That's awesome, 6 posts and no Ratner bashing. Congratulations Brett, you are accepted.

What do you expect? It's "Rush Hour."

Of course, the second poster didn't appreciate Roman Pulanski.

I don't care. After getting bitchslapped from directing "X-Men 3" (I'm one of the few who sat through it"), it's time that Ratner made his apology.

Trust Ratner
With the previous success of the Rush Hour films and the blockbuster hit that is X-Men 3. I now trust Brett's decision with making Rush Hour 3. Maybe it will be something fun to enjoy.

Polanski? POLANSKI? RH1 was good. Can #3 possibly be better?
